Ryan Reid and Other Things to Be Thankful For

It’s Christmas tomorrow, or so the calendar says. I could start listing all the things I want from Santa but I don’t want to be that needy child. All that gimme, gimme, gimme stuff is a turnoff. Besides, we all know I’m on the naughty list.

But I’ve got cookies to bake and ham to eat, so I hope everyone can wait a few days for a thorough analysis of Ryan Reid. For now I can give you the abridged version.

No, today what I would like to do in the spirit of the season is give thanks. I have a lot to be thankful for, so here goes, some things I am grateful for:

Daniel Murphy is still on our roster

Frank Francisco is not

Six more years (at least) to watch David Wright

The great Peter Wolf still tours, and

Mariano (the Looooong Goodbye) Rivera has ended his

Lucas Duda Game Mariano Rivera

Getting to watch Juan Lagares track a fly ball

A full year of Zack Wheeler

Curtis Granderson

A great blogging partner

All our readers, of course, and

That’s all for now, as I can smell the ham, and it doesn’t stand a chance.

  1. Merry Xmas and a Happy (or at least happier) 2014.

  2. Have a great holiday, folks.

  3. SANTA says:

As I’m finishing my work on this “Late Christmas Eve”, I’m munching on a Cookie that a good little Mets Fan left for me and I’m thinking about all of You Mets Fans…. so patient!…so devoted! You’ve been Very, Very Good! I’m putting something special under The Mets Fans’ Trees!!!!

I can’t tell you everything about it…and you don’t get to see the entire present on Christmas Day, but I know you’re going to be very happy! I’ll give you a hint—it’s going to include many surprises and a lot of luck!

OK…. a few more things to do and then I can get back with “Mrs. Santa” and our Elves. As for you Mets Fans…have a most Merry Christmas!— and a Great Baseball year!!

    Ho Ho Ho!!!!
